Biography
Brian Kirchner is a composer, pianist, and playwright from Brooklyn, NY. A graduate of Muhlenberg College and the Community Conservatory of Music, Brian is an active member of the New York arts scene. His award winning musical compositions have appeared in art galleries, orchestral productions, theater productions, and independent films. In 2008, Brian released Nocturnes, an album of original piano compositions. A year later, he contributed to The Blake Project, a musical exploration of the works of William Blake.
Currently, Brian's music appeared in several Off-Off Broadway theater productions including: Life is a Dream at the Prospect Park Music Pavilion, Impostor Striketh Back at the Center for Performance Research, A Rule of Nines at The Bleecker Street Theatre, and Ampersand: A Romeo and Juliet Story at The Looking Glass Theater. In the summer of 2011, Brian's music for Ampersand: A Romeo and Juliet Story will appear at the New York Fringe Festival. Brian is also a member of the American Society of Composers and Producers.
Along with these musical ventures, Brian is an accomplished writer and playwright. He is the author of over 15 original plays, 6 of which have been produced in the Off-Off Broadway Theater scene. Highlights include: A Rule of Nines at the Bleecker Street Theatre, Dismissing Robert Fink at the Manhattan Repertory Theatre, Speakeasy at the Tank Theatre, and The Tupperware Party at The Tank Theatre. When he is not writing and composing, Brian teaches and tutors in Manhattan and Brooklyn.
